The traditional shaker kitchen features solid tulipwood doors in frames and on traditional butt hinges. Metal drawer pulls and door handles and customised painted colours mean that it is easy to tailor to any colour palate and design taste.
I really enjoy making kitchens. Because I work directly with my clients and plan each job from scratch, I can offer a truly bespoke service. I offer a free consultation and provide rendered drawings that help clients to visualise the plan in three dimensions.
For most jobs, I use birch ply to construct the cabinets and drawers. In additional to being sustainable, it is such an attractive, durable and cost-effective material. I always use heavy-duty hardware from a top-quality Austrian firm for the hinges and soft-closing drawer mechanisms. The end result is a strong and aesthetically-pleasing cabinet or drawer that will stand up to many years of heavy use.
Worktops are an important part of any kitchen. I enjoy making durable solid wood countertops out of lovely wide planks of oak or maple. These really show the beauty and depth of the natural grain. Laminates are also a great way to introduce colour. I can help to source stone or composite worktops that are guaranteed to fit perfectly atop the kitchen cabinets.
